In Destiny 2, a new Nightfall strike is up next: The Pyramidion. Here’s how to succeed in the Nightfall – even on Prestige!
With each weekly reset, Guardians are presented with a new Nightfall. This is a challenging version of a strike, where you have a time limit and other modifiers. If you master this endgame activity, you will receive the best loot. There is “powerful gear” that you can earn once per week and per character through the Nightfall.
This week, the Pyramidion is the Nightfall strike. This is a strike on Io where you face the Vex and Taken. You need to eliminate the Genesis Mind Brakion.
The Modifiers and Challenges of the Pyramidion Nightfall
The Pyramidion is actually a cool strike, which impresses with various environmental hazards. However, in the Nightfall, you have no time to examine this strike closely. Because time is of the essence!
These are the modifiers:
- Flash Flood: Endless power flows from within you. Abilities recharge faster as a result.
- Time Loop: Zero Hour: The mission timer cannot be extended. You have 22 minutes in the normal Nightfall and 17 minutes in the Prestige mode.
The Challenges in the Nightfall Strike:
- Complete the Nightfall with at least 5 minutes remaining.
- Complete the Nightfall with fewer than 3 deaths.
- Do not allow Brakion to be shielded for more than 40 seconds before you defeat him.

Tips for the Nightfall Strike
General tips:
- Use the Flash Flood modifier at all times: Always throw your grenades as soon as they are charged. You get a new grenade approximately every 6 seconds.
- The pulse grenades are powerful in PvE. Therefore, consider using a Striker Titan or a Stormcaller Warlock who can deal damage to enemies.
- The Nightstalker Hunter with the Orpheus Rig is also recommended, as he can generate many orbs of light, allowing you to use your super more frequently. Show the enemies your devastating abilities!
- You cannot extend the mission timer, so you need to defeat the enemies quickly. Coordinate who uses their super, collect the orbs, throw grenades, and clear the areas as fast as possible. By the way: At the beginning, you can use your Sparrow to ride the first few meters in the Pyramidion.
- Be more cautious with the laser beams. If you die, it will cost you more time. Move through with focus.
- Once portals are open, run through them. The enemies that spawn do not need to be defeated.
- Flash Flood also recharges the Warlock’s Rift and the Titan’s Barricade faster. Use these advantages, especially during the boss fight.
- The boss goes down quickly if you keep him under fire with pulse grenades.
- If you want to play with the Sunbreaker Titan, take the “Hallowfire Heart” chest armor. This significantly reduces your solar ability cooldowns while the Hammer of Sol is charged. That means you can throw grenades almost continuously!
If you get stuck somewhere, here is a video where Nexxoss completes the Pyramidion in Nightfall on Prestige. Even though the Guardians died multiple times, they ended up with over a minute remaining:
