In Destiny 2 you can find planetary resources like the “Dawnlight Shards.” Can these be farmed efficiently and what do they actually bring? We have the answers!
Destiny veterans will remember that in Destiny 1 there were items like “Ghost Flowers” or “Helium Filaments.” These were special resources that could only be collected on certain planets.
Destiny 2 also has planetary resources that vary by location. For example, in the EDZ there are Dawnlight Shards that you need to farm on specific days to complete challenges.
But what can you actually do with them?
You need Dawnlight Shards for this
Planetary resources are not only needed to complete challenges but also generate reputation with the vendors in the worlds. Devrim Kay, the representative in the EDZ, wants the Dawnlight Shards. The planetary materials yield slightly less reputation than the tokens.

You can obtain the luminous materials (see our title image) in two different rarity levels: green and blue. The blue (rare) Dawnlight Shards yield more reputation.
How to farm Dawnlight Shards
Travel to the EDZ, specifically to the starting area (The Trostland). Now run northeast to the “Mävik Platz.” Search the entire area until you can no longer find any Dawnlight Shards. Then return to the Trostland. Since you change the area, the planetary resources are reset. At the “Mävik Platz,” you can now harvest Dawnlight Shards again.

This “farming method” can be repeated infinitely. This way you can quickly get the items.
Here is a video about it:
Robert says: Aside from the challenges where you need to specifically farm the materials, searching for the planetary items is not worth the effort. Boxes with tokens that yield more reputation, can also be shown from afar using an item from Cayde-6. This does not apply to planetary resources; these have to be painstakingly searched.
