With the Forsaken expansion for Destiny 2, a new public event has been added. We will show you how to start this public event heroically.
The new public event in Forsaken takes place in the Wirrbucht and revolves around a cryo capsule, in which a powerful, wanted enemy lies dormant. The enemy race may vary from event to event.
This big chunk then rises from its escape pod and you must either take it out as part of the event, or – even better – freeze it again and prepare it for teleport back. That is exactly what the heroic version of this public event is about.
Cryo Capsule Event in the Wirrbucht – Here’s how it works
Here’s how to find the event: You can find the new public event on the map of Wirrbucht or by the corresponding flag that indicates the exact event location in the new area.
This is what makes the new event special: As soon as the event is triggered, you must fend off two waves of enemies defending the crashed cryo capsule. There is nothing specific to keep in mind here. Just kill everything that gets in your way until you have survived both waves.
If you have successfully mowed down through both waves of enemies, the cryo capsule will open and the sought-after event boss will rise from it. If you follow the event description and simply take him out, you will complete the event – but only in the normal version. The tooltips do not provide any real hints on how to start the heroic version.
How to activate the Cryo Capsule Event heroically – Here’s what you need to do
To trigger this public event heroically, you must do the following:
First fight the boss: Once the boss has exited, you can charge at him. However, he will quickly receive reinforcements. So take out some of his minions as well – that will make your life a bit easier. Then concentrate again on the final boss.
Watch out: It is important not to kill the boss. If you send him to the virtual afterlife instead of back to jail, the event will be over and you will no longer have the opportunity to activate it heroically.
Watch for the steaming vents: Shortly after the reinforcements arrive, an electric energy field forms on the ground around the capsule. If you enter it, your movements will be slowed, and you will take damage over time.
During this phase, you must focus more on the cryo capsule. There are vent outlets on the side of the capsule that start smoking. The two smoking vent covers must now be shot down.
In the open vents, a type of frost orbs will then appear. These can be picked up and thrown at the boss. This slowly slows down his movements and completely freezes him after three hits with the orb.
Important: For the second pair of vents to start steaming and for you to be able to take the third and – if necessary – a fourth frost orb, you must have shot the boss down to about one third of his health.
Final Phase: Once you have frozen the final boss, the heroic public event will start. A circular zone will then form around him, which you must hold and capture until his transport by teleport. If you succeed in this, you have successfully completed the event heroically.
