Just before the start of Season 9, Destiny 2 is ramping up the excitement once again. After showcasing the new Solar Hunter in action, the Solar buffs for the other two Guardian classes have now been presented in a video. Titans and Warlocks can look forward to this in Season 9.
What are the buffs about? On December 10, the Season of Dawn begins in Destiny 2. The new Season 9 will be accompanied by Update 2.7.0 for Destiny 2, which will bring various sandbox changes to the game. In this context, the outdated Solar classes of the Guardians will be strengthened.
After Bungie recently gave a taste of the buffed Gunslinger Hunter, the studio has now presented the buffs for the other two Guardian classes – namely that of the Sunbreaker Titan and the Dawnblade Warlock.
The changes to the Sunbreaker Titan: In the first clip, the revised light attack of the Solar Super “Brandhammer” can be seen. This will be significantly buffed for Season 9.
The Brandhammer will last longer – 28.5 seconds instead of 21.2 seconds. Additionally, the costs for the light attack have been decreased, and the animation has been revamped so that this attack can now be chained together without stopping. This is how it looks in practice:
Moreover, the Brandhammer has been strengthened so that the height of the heavy attack now reaches further. This should make the Super more powerful against enemies that are in the air or in an elevated position. This is how this change plays out in practice – here in the example of the second clip from PvP:
The changes to the Dawnblade Warlock: With the overhaul of “Himmelseinstimmung,” players should be able to play as a flying angel who can move agilely and lethally through the air.
However, to achieve this, Bungie had to clearly distinguish the two Dawn paths and will generally reduce the speed at which “Schubgleiten” accelerates players during the Dawnblade Super. In return, Icarus Dashes will receive higher speed and more thrust during the Dawnblade Super.
Some Warlock players were concerned that the Warlock might lose its signature agility. But as it appears in the video, these concerns are not really justified:
In the second Warlock clip, the new effect of the revised perk “Hitzewelle” is demonstrated. The Warlock consumes its grenade, thereby increasing its glide time. Additionally, disadvantages for using weapons in the air are drastically reduced, allowing them to snipe comfortably while gliding. The new melee attack with the three explosive solar projectiles can also be seen at the end.
These changes for Season 9 are already known: Recently, Bungie communicated not only the Solar class buffs but also other changes that you can expect in new Season 9. The most important can be found here:
- The most important known changes for the new Season 9
- Players wish for random rolls from Xur – This is what Bungie says
- Is the power level rising in the new season? This is what Bungie says
- All of this will disappear from Destiny 2 at the end of Season 8
What do you think of these changes? Do they make you eager for more? Or do they leave you completely cold?
