The Solstice of Heroes is coming soon to Destiny 2. Along with new activities, there are plenty of new items that are themed around sun, beach, and sea. A new Sparrow has particularly caught the players’ attention.
What kind of Sparrow is it? With the introduction of this year’s Solstice of Heroes, Bungie also showcased some of the new cosmetics that players can expect at the event. The items all have a summer theme and are fittingly aligned with the warm season, themed around sun and beach.
In addition to Ghost shells styled like beach balls and a Sparrow that looks like a chic rowboat, there is also a vehicle that suspiciously resembles a cross between a jetski and a playground attraction for children.
The blue Sparrow has a plastic look and is considerably more compact than its other relatives.
What are players saying? The new Sparrow was immediately well-received by players. Some players call the vehicle “the silliest one yet,” while others believe that the blue plastic Sparrow is the best of all time.
User StrongM13 posted a picture in the Destiny subreddit, placing the new ride along with a Guardian on a playground fittingly. The post received over 10,000 upvotes within a few hours.

Players were particularly amused when the flavor bot of the subreddit, which regularly posts more or less fitting flavor texts from weapons, armor, or cosmetic items, spat out the following response to StrongM13’s picture:
Here. Try this one. It has a low center of gravity like you and your fat Titan butt. —Marcus Ren
The flavor text comes from the Sparrow Aerolite HW-42, see here on Light.gg, which was introduced with Season 6 in Destiny 2, but fits very well with the new vehicle that can be obtained with the Solstice of Heroes and Patch 2.5.2.
Other Guardians, who still have no idea about the items in the summer festival, repeatedly ask in the post whether it is a joke or if the little Sparrow is really coming to the game.
Others indicate that it is a shame that we still do not have horns for Sparrows in the game, as was the case in Destiny 1. Then the plastic Sparrow would either have a very deep and loud horn, or a high-pitched horn that can be heard from afar.
How does one obtain the Sparrow? How exactly the Guardians will obtain the Sparrow is still not fully known. Many players assume that it will come from the Eververse like the other items and can be purchased there.
By the way, the Eververse will be revamped with the event and will not bring any additional event engrams. Instead, all new cosmetics can be purchased with Glimmer or Silver in the shop.
Additionally, with the event, there will also be a highly requested change to the Solstice armor:
