In the new episode of Destiny 2, you will have to farm top loot again, otherwise, you will quickly fall behind in endgame activities.
What brings Destiny 2 back? Bungie announced in the latest “This Week in Destiny” that the regular increase of the power level will return.
Until Lightfall, Destiny increased the power level by 10 levels every season. Players had to engage in specific activities such as raids, dungeons, and exotic missions to farm top loot and thus increase their power level.
It was only possible to reach the power level cap (hard cap) that increased every season with top loot. However, this has not been the case lately; the current hard cap has been at 2000 since the release of “The Final Shape”.
So, in the upcoming episodes, you will have to grind regularly again and try to reach the new hard cap and adjust your weapons with god rolls to the current limit.
New Episode Brings Back the Grind
When does the top loot cap return? According to Bungie, the regular increase of the hard cap will return in October with the upcoming episode “Returners”.
The episode starts on October 8, 2024.
In the following episode “Heresy“, the hard cap is also supposed to increase.
What do the different caps look like in the upcoming episode? Compared to The Final Shape, there will be only small changes to the caps.
- The hard cap in the episode Returners will be 2010.
- The powerful cap will then be 2000.
- The soft cap will be 1950.
- The power floor will still be 1900.
When the episode “Returners” starts, the raised power level cap could play a significant role in the new dungeon that comes with the episode.
Bungie explained that the new dungeon will start on October 11 with a contest mode. This particular challenge was previously only available for new raids: Destiny 2 is getting a new dungeon that offers you a unique challenge for the first time
