With the Forsaken expansion, Destiny 2 is receiving a completely new weapon type – the bows. Bungie has now dedicated a short developer video to the new weapon. Watch the new ViDoc “Building the Bow” to see how the bow for Destiny 2: Forsaken was created.
Bows as a new weapon in Forsaken: Already during the reveal video for Destiny 2: Forsaken, many Guardians were quite surprised. Because Destiny 2 is getting a new weapon type – the bow – with the upcoming autumn addon. The developers at Bungie have now released a short video that provides insight into the bow’s creation process.
Bungie is putting in a lot of effort: The development team has also gone to a bow shooting range and deeply engaged with the mechanics of the real weapon. This is to ensure that the gunplay still feels as fans of the Destiny series are accustomed to, even with the bow.

New details in the ViDoc:
The ViDoc also shows some more details about the bow itself and the Forsaken expansion. For example, it becomes clear that the arrows have a ballistic trajectory – and likely over different distances. In Gambit, two arrows were needed to take down a Guardian with full health.
Among other things, there is also a bow that apparently possesses the perk Toben. Additionally, there are exploding arrows. Furthermore, projectiles that trigger an Arc lightning discharge have been spotted. However, it is not yet known whether this is a type of ammunition or another bow perk.
In addition, the video shows some footage from the Dreaming City – the new endgame location from the Forsaken expansion. A public event with Taken is also visible.
The footage also shows some mysterious sawblade projectiles. These sawblade discs are currently being intensely discussed. The community is divided on whether these are one of the new Supers from the Sentinel Titan or the ability of an enemy unit.
