This is how you access the Ascendant Challenge: Visit Petra Venj in the Dreaming City. Petra is located in Rheasilvia this week. The challenge awaits you in her inventory with the Weekly Bounties.
How the Ascendant Challenge works
The requirement for the bounty: Get the bounty from Petra for 1500 Glimmer and first seek out an consumable item called “Queensfoil Tincture”. This item opens your mind to the secrets of the Dreaming City for 30 minutes. It can randomly be found in various chests throughout the city.
You can also buy the Queensfoil Tincture from a secret vendor.
This is how you enter the Ascendant Realm: In this challenge, the portal opens in the Herald’s retreat. This is the area where you can also find the Queensfoil Tincture vendor. Take a tincture with you to see the portal.
You need to head towards the Oracle from the spawn point, pass through a hidden portal, and then run a good distance to the Herald’s retreat. The portal is located on a pillar that you reach by climbing up over spawning plates. Nexxoss Gaming shows you the exact path in the video (from 0:27):
Other paths – like through Rheasilvia – also lead there. Additionally, she lets you climb the pillar without the spawning plates.
In the Ascendant Realm: You arrive at the “Keep of the Shaped” as soon as you step through the portal. Jump over the chasms until you reach a Hive Ritual.
Witches and Knights are gathered around a sword. Kill the witches and all the small enemies in the area. Then you can pick up the sword. With the sword, you can take down the Knights.
Now kill the Knights and be aware of many spawning enemies trying to stop you. The Knights may flinch from sword strikes if you deal enough damage. Take them on one by one.
Once that is done, the Toland light will show you where to go. It will guide you over jumping passages to a chest. Bring the sword with you to there, otherwise, according to user reports, there may not be a chest waiting at the end. Loot this and the challenge is complete.
