The Guardian Games reward the class that performs best. However, there was accidentally an award ceremony that should not have taken place. There is still no winner, but many are hoping for the Titans class.
Bungie sent the Guardians into various activities where they are supposed to farm medals. They must hand these in at the Altar on the Tower to collect points for their class. Daily, one class is stamped as the winner of the day. The class that has won the most days in the end wins the Guardian Games.
But a message caused confusion. Because anyone logging into the game received the notice that the Warlock had won the games. Now Bungie explains: The message is incorrect, and there is (still) no winner.
There is still no winner; will the Titans win in the end?
What a mishap! Bungie explains:
We are aware that an in-game message announcing the winner of the Guardian Games was sent out by mistake. The Guardian Games still have two weeks left, and the winning class has not yet been officially announced.
What happens next? The Guardian Games will run for another 2 weeks, during which medals can still be collected for the games. Many are now hoping that the Titans class might win.
This does not seem to be the first mistake related to the Guardian Games. For example, the statue in the Tower incorrectly displayed the wrong winning class after the mid-season update in April. And some Guardian Games triumphs were activated earlier than intended. Many players found that strange and suspected that something might be wrong.
Deceased voice actor to be honored with a victory
In March 2023, Lance Reddick, the voice of Commander Zavala and “John Wick” star unexpectedly passed away at the age of 60. Even then, the Guardians, especially the Titans class, showed their condolences in the game with memorials.
For the 2023 Guardian Games, there is now the idea to honor the deceased “hero” of the game with a victory. Therefore, many urged their teammates: Play as Titan as well. Because if the Titans win, Bungie will recognize this with a gold plating of the Titan symbol on the Guardian Games statue for 1 year.
