What truly makes a raid is the big bosses within it. The raids in Destiny 1 differ significantly from one another: Crota’s End has only one real boss – namely Crota himself. King’s Fall, however, has three unique bosses with their own mechanics: the Warpriest, Golgoroth, and Oryx. Wrath of the Machine also has three encounters.
We expect more than just one big boss at the end of the raid in Destiny 2. The raid should take us through many different areas with unparalleled settings where the bosses await with exciting mechanics.
In Destiny 1, the battles mostly take place in closed, manageable spaces. Only the Siege Engine in “Wrath of the Machine” breaks this confinement. Therefore, we would welcome expansive areas in the raid of Destiny 2. Hope comes from looking at the Strike “Inverted Spire” in Destiny 2: This strike features extremely open areas. The new raid should also allow for a larger scale.
In short:
Destiny 2 is supposed to deliver many raid bosses
The boss fights should take place in various settings – preferably in expansive areas where mobility is required. Many previous fights ran on the premise of “I stand on this platform and shoot at the boss.”.
Diverse and creative boss mechanics are desired. Raid bosses should be notably different from strike bosses, which can only absorb a lot of damage.
