The Nightfall strike “The Corrupted” is particularly difficult in Destiny 2, which is why players have already renamed it to “The Horrumpired.” But even here, Esoterickk has helpful tips for you to end the horror.
The Corrupted
Tip 1) Don’t cross the bridge
In the first phase of the Nightfall Strike, you need to stand your ground against many enemies to even reach the entrance. Avoid this by using the outer areas and taking out the champion directly.
Tip 2) First the Hive Ogre
In the phase with the two Ogre minibosses, first eliminate the Hive Ogre in the normal area. Then take out the Ogre in the Ascendant area. This ensures that all other enemies, except for the three Howlers, will despawn.
Tip 3) Way too many mobs
During the first encounter with the Technicians on the large plate, utilize the outer areas – at least for the first two shield phases of Sedia. In the third phase, you will have to jump onto the plate and fight from there.
This also works in the final boss area. Only when Sedia has 40% health left do you get a “Return Back” and have to get closer. Until then, it can be played better with some distance.
The Devil’s Cave
Tip 1) “Protect Your Ghost”
In the strike, you need to use your ghost and then hold the area to protect it. The ideal spot for optimal defense is all the way back right, by the derailed train. There, you have perfect cover and the enemies come at you.
Tip 2) Don’t move too far forward
Back outside, in the open area, you will encounter a Fallen Runner and two Fallen robots. However, these only spawn if you go too far forward. So don’t move too far and first take care of the pesky snipers and all other small enemies. Then move forward and trigger the large opponents.
Tip 3) A small “room”
In the boss “occupy” the first room all the way on the left. From there, you can safely deal with all enemies. Occasionally, a crazy Arc Captain may push into the room, but he quickly retreats when he loses his shield or gets hit by a grenade.
Tip 4) Stop the teleporting
Servitors like to make a run for it. However, you can prevent this by first shooting an overload arrow at them. After that, they will no longer teleport. Alternatively, a grenade thrown directly at the boss works as well. By the way: This trick works not only with the Servitors in the Devil’s Cave but with all Servitors in Destiny 2. You just need weapons that cause disturbance.
Testing Grounds
Tip 1) Bypass shields
With the Heaven’s Burner Oath you can bypass the shield mechanic. The exotic weapon of the Cabal is able to go through the shield so you can shoot it from a distance. This also works later with the boss, keeping you safe from his stomp attack.
Tip 2) Tanks in tanks
Don’t jump through the hatch in the control room immediately but take out the two interceptors patrolling on the right and left in the depressions from above. It takes a bit longer, but ensures you can move better in the tank area later.
Tip 3) Annoying solar balls
In the boss fight, it pays to wait. The annoying solar balls will always end after a certain time. Usually, when the boss has shot them at you about 12-13 times. After that, you just need to watch out for the Bronco cannon.
Tip 4) Solar seekers with limited range
In the second phase, the solar balls burst while flying to the entrance. If you stay in the entrance area, they cannot reach you, and you won’t need to shoot them.
