One of the most well-known Destiny 2-PvE players, Esoterickk, shares practical tips and tricks in his latest video about the six current Nightfall Strikes that you may not know.
For the Weekly Reset on October 5, the ultimate PvE endgame content in Destiny 2 starts. The Trial of Nightfall on the “Grandmaster” difficulty. However, the selection of Nightfall Strikes available in Season 15 is not easy and promises a tough fight for everyone looking to earn the Conqueror title for the first time or to gild it again. Good tips from experienced players like Esoterickk are therefore gratefully accepted by the community.
Who is Esoterickk? The well-known Destiny player and streamer Esoterickk is considered one of the best, if not the best PvE player in Destiny 2 and has proven multiple times that he can solo play any content in Destiny without any issues. This includes activities that many other Guardians wrestle with, even as a team. Esoterickk regularly defeats raid and dungeon bosses solo and sometimes even without weapons.
He is the Chuck Norris of the Destiny universe, and he proves it every season:
- he solos the hardest strike in Destiny 2 “The Corrupted”
- he defeats Atheon in the Vault of Glass solo on the Grandmaster difficulty
- or he plays the Prophecy Dungeon completely without weapons

The Hollow Hideout
Tip 1) Trigger counterweight plates only briefly
To prevent enemies in the room with the counterweight plates from overwhelming you, trigger the plates only briefly. Afterwards, you can safely deal with all enemy waves from the entrance. Repeat this until both plates are fully activated and the “Vengeful Hand” appears.
Tip 2) Control the enemy waves
In the boss room, take advantage of the trigger mechanics of the enemy waves. The fanatic only spawns new enemies when he has taken between 10 and 15% damage. If it gets too much, stop doing boss damage and deal with the existing enemies first. In the video, you can see the exact order in which the enemies appear alternately.

Tip 1) First enemies, then Taken bubbles
Before you destroy any of the three Taken spheres in the first area, eliminate all enemies first. This ensures that no further normal enemies will respawn in the entire area. However, the champions will still trigger, allowing you to complete the platinum.
Tip 2) Utilize safespots
If you want, you can use two safespots during the boss fight. Where exactly these are can be seen in the video at about 3 minutes, even if the spots do not guarantee 100% safety from being hit.

Tip 1) Create space
Before you collect the arc energy beams, deal with all enemies in the area, preferably with long-range weapons, such as an Overload bow.
Tip 2) Control mob waves
In confined spaces, it is important to always control all enemies. So trigger the capturing plate briefly again and then retreat to the entrance. This way, you keep control of the situation and the individual waves.
Tip 3) Don’t rush
In the Exodus Crash passage that goes through the open world, many enemies are the biggest problem. The bow is again very practical, as it allows you to clear the area beforehand.
Tip 4) Conserve ammunition
In the next area, you should save your ammunition for the boss fight. Grab one of the fallen heavy mosquitos and head up the path on the right. From up there (see image), you have a good line of fire and can take down the runner without using your own ammunition.
Tip 5) Cover is everything
In the boss room, there are not really many places where you can stand safely. Most players go left in the boss room and use the cover of the boxes there. Esoterickk uses a safespot further back, where you will take damage from the arc fields. This will therefore only work well with a Warlock whose Rift is quickly available again.
