Some players in Dead by Daylight have more luck than sense. But you probably won’t experience such a situation ever again.
At its core, the asymmetrical game Dead by Daylight is quite tactical, relying on the skills of individual players. However, there are indeed several factors that depend on luck or chance. A clip now shows how outrageously lucky one can be in the Dead by Daylight subreddit.
What happened? QueenLivCat played as Jane against the Cannibal in Dead by Daylight, and the round was going anything but well. One survivor had already left the game due to a disconnect, another had died on the hook, while the last team member was also in the final seconds of the sacrifice phase. QueenLivCat was already on the ground, facing her fate of dying as well.
Since only 2 out of 5 generators were repaired, it can be said that the round was rather unfavorable for the survivors.
However, QueenLivCat doesn’t give up and does the only thing she can: She tries to free herself from the hook and succeeds immediately. Better yet, at the moment of self-rescue, the hatch appears right beneath Jane, allowing her to escape with a click. No chance for the killer.
What does this have to do with luck? That QueenLivCat’s endeavor works is quite unlikely and requires a strong chain of luck, chance, and a little “mistake” from the killer. Because:
- Freeing yourself from the hook has only a 4% chance of success. In most cases, you fail and lose only a part of your health bar.
- The hatch can appear in several dozen positions on the map. Standing directly above it is virtually impossible.
- The fact that QueenLivCat was even allowed to try to free herself from the hook is due to the remaining survivor being in the death animation of the hook at that moment. If the person had already been fully sacrificed, there would have been no rescue attempts – the killer would only have had to wait a few seconds.
