The superhero/supervillain MMO DC Universe Online is set to receive a streamlined, faster, and generally more super user interface.
The user interface is a bit like the superhero’s girlfriend: it only stands out when it has problems. But for developers, it’s something they tinker and optimize with as soon as they don’t pay attention for three minutes.
Significant changes to the user interface are now on the horizon for DC Universe Online. The new menu is intended to be more logical, faster, and more streamlined. With transparent menus and all the bells and whistles. (Why does transparent bells and whistles make me think of Wonder Woman? Oh right, invisible jet.)
Since DC Universe Online is one of the first MMOs for consoles and takes a pioneering role here, the way MMO menu navigation works in DCUO could set a trend for the genre. Final Fantasy XIV is also paving the way here.
