Batman is 75 and the superhero MMO DC Universe Online pays tribute to the Dark Knight.
Even though Christian Bale doesn’t look that old, Bruce Wayne (Spoiler!), also known as Batman, could have been eligible for retirement for over 10 years. 75 years have passed since his first appearance in “Detective Comics”. The first one was released in 1939.
Since then, he has gone through many changes, but has always managed to stay “relevant” to the viewers. The superhero cinema of the last 25 years would be hard to imagine without the various Batmans. Whether in surreal movie versions by Tim Burton, the more squeaky and candy-colored variations of the late 90s (Batman with nipples) or the masterpieces that Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale have given us (okay, we primarily mean the second one with the Joker) – cinema would be poorer without Batman. And right now, they are working on a US TV series called “Gotham” that is supposed to take place on the fringes of the Batman saga. Not to mention the comics that have repeatedly brought forth great stories.
Batman is also well represented in video games; most people think of the “Arkham” single-player series. For MMO fans, however, he is associated with the superhero MMO DC Universe Online. There he plays a central role alongside Superman and Wonder Woman. The creators of DC Universe Online have now dealt with the role of the Dark Knight in three clips.
