Superman and Homelander will not meet so quickly in any movie or series. However, the situation is different in the world of comics. Soon, there will be a crossover that could clarify an important question.
Comic fans love to speculate whether their favorite character would prevail against another superhero or villain. In the case of Superman and Homelander from The Boys, this question is all the more relevant because Homelander is something like the evil counterpart to Superman.
He is strongly narcissistic, racist, prone to violence, and generally just not a good role model. That the character is nevertheless celebrated as an idol by some fans disturbs even the actor.
Superman, on the other hand, is mainly known for his idealistic character. He saves the day and is a shining hero, mostly at least. What happens when he meets Homelander has so far been the basis for wild speculation. However, DC itself would like to put an end to that soon, as a confrontation between the two is imminent.
The Shining Hero vs. The Arrogant Villain
What has been announced? DC has revealed new information at the New York Comic Con 2025 about an already launched comic series. The first issue of “DC: K.O.” was released on October 7, 2025, with part 2 following in November. In it, the Justice League must battle Darkseid in a kind of Battle Royale.
In addition to the regular issues, there will be a bonus issue in February 2026 featuring various characters from other universes, including Homelander from The Boys.
Jim Lee, the creative head of DC, announced at the Comic Con that there will be a meeting of giants: “Who wouldn’t want to watch Homelander fight Superman?”
How exactly the duel will look is something Lee has, of course, not revealed. However, one can assume that the two superheroes will give each other a good beating – which leads back to the question of who will ultimately emerge as the victor.
Who has better chances? Of course, it’s pure speculation, but Superman would probably have the better chances. His powers exceed those of Homelander, and he also has more experience in combat – especially against enemies with superpowers.
As for his character, Superman is stronger: he is emotionally much more stable and is not easily rattled by minor setbacks in battle. Homelander, on the other hand, is arrogant and lacks discipline – which is a disadvantage in the duel against the morally upright and well-considered Superman.
Who else appears in the crossover? The biggest attention is probably on the meeting between Superman and Homelander, but there are also other characters who are interesting. Among them is Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat, with the exciting question of whether the extreme violence from the video game will also find its place in the comic. Coincidentally: Homelander has already made an appearance in Mortal Kombat.
And with the doll Annabelle from the Conjuring film series, an unusual foe makes an appearance. What a fight against the demonic icon from the horror flick would look like is probably a question that only a few comic fans have asked. They will find out the answer in February next year.
Are you looking forward to the crossover? And who do you think has the better chances in the mentioned duel of Superman vs. Homelander? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments.
