In Pokémon GO a new feature is coming soon! A dataminer has shown the first images of the Lucky Friends. We give you first insights into the upcoming change.
What is known about Lucky Friends? Over a week ago, the dataminer Chrales made first announcements about the Lucky Friends in the code of Pokémon GO. This feature is supposed to bring guaranteed Lucky Pokémon.
Now, the first images have been found. They roughly outline the function of the Lucky Friends and especially show how the screen looks during such a trade.

What can be seen in the images? The screenshots from Dataminer Chrales illustrate the animations during the trade with the Lucky Friend and how one will recognize such a friend.
How does one become a Lucky Friend? Not much is known about the functionality of the feature yet. The dataminer explains nothing specific about it. However, it can be assumed that one becomes Lucky Friends after making a few trades in advance.
This is how you recognize the Lucky Friends: If you are Lucky Friends with someone, you will recognize this directly. Already in the friends list, you can see golden circles around the player’s name. This is your Lucky Friend.
When trading with this friend, the entire background is gold and looks significantly different than usual.
What do Lucky Friends bring? When Chrales discovered the feature, he already found text passages related to it. These state that you can trade a Lucky Pokémon with a Lucky Friend for sure.
This would change a lot because you could secure strong Pokémon for sure, as Lucky Pokémon have at least 80% IV.
When will the feature come? So far, nothing is known about the release. However, it could come soon, as apparently all important details are already included.
This is important: Despite the images and the known details, it remains only a find from a dataminer for now. Perhaps Niantic will not bring this feature at all – or only much later. This remains to be seen.
