Dark and Light: Gameplay of the MMO – Build Fortresses Wherever You Want

In the upcoming MMORPG Dark and Light, you can build fortresses – wherever you want.

Housing is an important part of an MMORPG. Players love to build, furnish, and expand their own homes. In Dark and Light, you can also build houses and even entire fortresses – almost anywhere. However, you should consider carefully where you want to erect your structure, as being in the wilderness surrounded by monsters could lead to problems from constant attacks.

Resources are important

To build a house or a fortress, you need resources. These include straw, wood, stone, and metal. The higher the quality of the resource, the more stable your building will be. After all, other players can attack and destroy it.

There is also the possibility of mining magical resources that provide magical protection to the building. However, you must first train the necessary skills. Building a house, and especially a fortress, requires a lot of resources and takes quite a while. However, you don’t have to wait too long before you can present something impressive.

With so-called “Preview” materials, you create a model of the structure at a 1:1 scale before the actual construction. Then you gradually place the “real” resources. You can build anywhere the ground is flat enough and as long as you don’t get too close to another player’s building.

Move into a city and defend it

If you don’t want to live in the wilderness, you can simply buy a house in one of the cities Vardo, Zaharul, or Estel. Each city offers its own architectural style. Those living in a city can contribute to its defense. This includes special magical defense mechanisms. You use workbenches to create appropriate items and magical materials needed for constructing buildings and defensive structures.

The website MMORPG.com was able to play an early version, Pre-Alpha, of the MMORPG Dark and Light and has released gameplay online. Check out the videos to get an impression of Dark and Light. The MMO is expected to be released later this year.
