In the course of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty you can swear an oath to the NUSA, but should you really do that?
Attention Spoiler: Anyone reading here will encounter information about the fourth main quest of the “Phantom Liberty” story. You have been warned.
Cyberpunk 2077 received a new story with Phantom Liberty featuring new characters, dialogues, and decisions. One of these decisions you encounter when playing the mission “Lucretia My Reflection,” where you meet Rosalind Myers, the president of the NUSA, in an apartment.
During a dialogue, you will have to decide whether you want to pledge an oath to the country. What consequences your decision has and whether you should take the oath will be explained here.
Phantom Liberty: Take the oath, yes or no?
What impact does the decision have? For the course of the “Phantom Liberty” story as well as the different endings, your decision whether you want to take the oath or not has no impact.
Even if you choose not to take the oath, you will still be a member of the Federal Intelligence Agency (FIA).
It primarily concerns a decision meant for playing your role and you can choose the option that you like best.
How do the characters react if I take the oath? If you decide to take the oath, you will receive certain reactions from President Myers and Johnny Silverhand.
Johnny will be unhappy with your decision and will criticize you with the words “fucking pathetic.” In contrast, President Myers will show delight. On the other hand, the president of the NUSA will be disappointed if you do not take the oath.
If you refuse the oath, Johnny is happy. This can increase the connection you have with the eccentric rocker. How well the relationship between V and Johnny is will then influence the ending of Cyberpunk 2077.
Not all decisions in Cyberpunk 2077 have such little impact on the game flow as the question of whether or not you want to take an oath. A wrong answer can even completely exclude you from the Phantom Liberty story:
