The jersey selection in FIFA has been almost the same for years. It works quite simply in FIFA 19. A video now shows that the Spanish football league uses a nearly identical principle for their selection.
This is shown: A short contribution on the YouTube channel of a Spanish newspaper now shows how the officials of the Spanish league select the jerseys of the teams during match planning.
Many FIFA players might rub their eyes, as this strongly resembles the video game. It becomes clear that the football simulation is also well received in real football and some elements are adopted.
The jersey selection in the Spanish league – just like in FIFA 19
That’s why there is a jersey selection: Already during match planning, it is determined which jersey colors the respective teams must wear. The referees’ kit is also included.
This is determined to avoid confusion on the pitch. The players must clearly recognize who their teammates and opponents are.
This is how it works in FIFA: In FIFA, players must choose between the jerseys of the two teams before each match. You can view all options and then decide which colors match best.
This is what the Spanish league shows now: In the video from the Spanish newspaper, a nearly identical selection option can be seen. There, the official also jumps from jersey to jersey and checks which colors fit best.
The video is completely in Spanish, but you can clearly see the jersey selection:
The difference to FIFA 19 lies only in the details. The Spanish league not only selects the players’ jerseys but also the kits of the goalkeepers and referees. Additionally, here you can even adjust the shorts and socks. This is not possible in FIFA.
What do you think about this? Do you know other cases where professional teams have been inspired by FIFA?
Normally, it is rather the other way around. There has been a massive influence on the transfer market after incredible matches were played in the Champions League:
