The CS2 professional donk is considered a rising star. He has now been banned on Twitch because he violated the platform’s guidelines years ago.
Who is it about? The Russian esports player and CS2 professional Danil “donk” Kryshkovets (17) has been banned on the streaming platform Twitch.
- Despite his young age, donk has been a professional player in Counter-Strike since 2021 and has been with the Russian esports organization “Team Spirit” since July 2023.
- For Team Spirit, donk is active as a rifler (entry fragger)
- donk is considered a promising player in CS2 who could become a real star in the coming years
- With Team Spirit, donk won the Intel Extreme Masters in Katowice (abbreviated: IEM Katowice 2024) in February 2024, an important and prestigious tournament. As winners, Team Spirit received a prize of 400,000 US dollars
Even though the IEM 2024 was donk’s first S-Tier LAN event, the 17-year-old was able to impress immediately with strong performances and was voted the MVP (most valuable player) of the tournament. This makes donk the youngest player ever to be named MVP of a tournament of this size.
Banned on Twitch for violating the guidelines years ago
Why was he banned on Twitch now? As donk reported on x.com, he was banned on Twitch because he was not yet 13 years old when he created his Twitch account.
The terms of use of the streaming platform state that users may only use Twitch and create an account when they are at least 13 years old (via twitch.tv).
Thus, donk violated Twitch’s terms of use when creating his account and has now faced the consequences.
While donk received a relatively mild ban on Twitch, his competitor Erkhan “gokushima” Bagynanov (23) faced a much harsher punishment: He was banned in Counter-Strike 2 and is not allowed to participate in tournaments for the next two years.
