Currently, a Combat Pre-Alpha of the MMORPG Crowfall is underway, and the developers are showcasing character creation and the three classes implemented so far.
Crowfall aims to bring back the days of exciting PvP battles of Shadowbane. The game is specifically aimed at players who enjoy PvP and do not want to experience long narratives in an MMO. This MMORPG is divided into campaigns that you can participate in. These campaigns lead you to different worlds that you explore to build your own kingdom, which you must then defend against others. Each campaign lasts for a certain period during which players must band together and achieve as much as possible.
How to create a hero
In the ongoing Pre-Alpha, the focus is on combat mechanics. First, you create a character. So far, only the three classes Confessor, Knight, and Legionnaire are available, which you can only customize to a limited degree. Later, there will be more classes and customization options. Each class is introduced through an in-game detailed video.
With your created heroes, you dive into PvP battles. You will be instructed on the controls and you can chat with other players while waiting for the match to start. Then, you should quickly search the area for weapons and armor. From the edges of the map, the so-called “Hunger” gradually encroaches deeper into the map. Anyone caught in the “Hunger” dies. Therefore, you should always head towards the center of the map, which is marked by a pillar of light. At campfires, you can heal yourself. At the end of the match, only one team will survive.
These are the current classes
In addition, the developers briefly introduce the three previously mentioned classes Confessor, Knight, and Legionnaire. The female Confessor is a mage who attacks enemies with fire spells from a distance, dealing significant damage and can quickly ensure her safety. Her abilities are fueled by mana. The Knight is a defensive melee fighter, a tank. He always fights on the front lines to absorb as much damage as possible. Additionally, he can block, execute many attacks, and knock down enemies. However, all of this costs mana. The Legionnaire appears to be the hothead of the characters, as he must be enraged to utilize his abilities. He charges forward to eliminate his opponents.
The MMORPG Crowfall is currently still in a very early phase, as the now released videos show. Nevertheless, it is slowly taking shape, which may appeal to gamers longing for the days of Shadowbane and who enjoy diving into PvP battles.
