Data miners have discovered news about John Wick in Fortnite! It seems that a skin is coming to the game that resembles the real John Wick significantly.
This is what the data miners found: Patch 9.01 is here and brings numerous updates related to the film antihero John Wick. A skin was discovered, as well as a gold coin reminiscent of those from the movies.
As early as the big update for Season 9, data miners found hints of an event related to John Wick. Fans also discovered a house on the Fortnite map that strongly resembles John Wick’s estate.
Epic itself also responded to such an event. They presented the fans on Twitter with an emoji puzzle related to John Wick.
This hints at the event with John Wick
This skin was found by data miners: In Patch 9.01, there was a John Wick skin that closely resembles the real John Wick. There was already a similar skin in Season 3 but was presented as “Grim Reaper,” and only the fans called him John Wick because of the strong resemblance. Epic did not yet have the license for the real Wick at that time.
The current skin looks much more like John Wick and is likely designed for an event related to the film character.
This hints at John Wick: Not only the similar skin but also another find shows the connection to John Wick. A gold coin was found that looks exactly like the coin used in the film.
In Fortnite, this coin will presumably be used as a back bling. Or it could be items from a planned mode where players are supposed to collect such coins from dead opponents.
What does Epic say about it? They keep the whole story a secret. On Twitter, they posted an emoji puzzle that seems to hint at John Wick.
When could the event start? The skin and the event finds from the last patch make it clear: There will likely be a John Wick event.
This could start soon, especially since John Wick: Chapter 3 will be released in US cinemas on May 17.
It is quite possible that Epic has entered into a partnership here and wants to promote the film in Fortnite. Something similar happened recently with an Avengers game mode at the launch of the new Avengers film “Endgame.”
