The survival MMO Conan Exiles is struggling with a major dupe exploit. This could lead to the wipe of all Funcom servers. Then everything would be gone on the official servers.
Angry users are writing on reddit: A dupe exploit is going around in Conan Exiles. Server 74 is full of “dupers.” In a dupe, an item is illegally duplicated by exploiting a game bug.
This leads to an imbalance in the economic balance of a game, because cheaters have huge resources at their disposal and gain insurmountable advantages over honest players. Such a dupe exploit ruins everything.
Thousands of building materials, really thousands
A player tells on reddit that they raided an outpost and found “thousands,” really “thousands” of building materials and foundations there. They are being used to build a massive wall around the northwestern area of the map. Apparently, there is also an exploit where players wear “full steel armor” even though they should actually be naked.
Another says: “Anyone with better equipment than T1 has used the exploit.”
A quick search on YouTube shows “Duping Exploits” with tutorials that emerged as early as March 8. So it has been going on for quite some time.
As statements from the developers indicate, a dupe exploit actually spread in the survival MMO Conan Exiles, but has since been fixed. The damage is still there. How should Funcom deal with it?
Monday might already see everything gone
In other threads, the demand can be heard: Funcom urgently needs to wipe the official servers now. Users don’t understand how this can NOT be done. The dupe bug has been extensively used for several days, and some have even been duping since the release. Conan Exiles is now “irreparably corrupted.”
Funcom has already responded, saying on reddit and via Twitter: They are currently weighing their options. Now that the exploit is fixed, Funcom is considering how to proceed. Nothing has been decided yet.

In a “wipe” or “reset,” the official servers are reset, as if no one had ever played there. In a rollback, they are set back to an earlier point in time.
