The collectors behind the “consolevariations” page have been searching for the rarest variation of the Nintendo Switch for years. Now they managed to acquire it.
What kind of Switch is this? It is a Super Special Limited Edition, which was only distributed to the winners of Nintendo Labo’s “Creator Contest.” Labo is this crazy Switch game with cardboard.
A total of 10 consoles in Labo design were produced, and if you look at the results from the contest, all participants truly deserved it. More on that below.
Here’s the piece in all its glory:

This special Switch brings the complete cardboard look and at first glance, it really does seem like the thing is entirely made of cardboard.
How did the collectors find the Switch? On Twitter, the people behind “consolevariations” reacted a bit to comments and revealed some small details. They did not find the winner of the Switch themselves; he came to the consolevariations Discord.
consolevariations reveals nothing about the price. Just this much:
Tweet translation: “5 years searched, 1 year negotiated. Finally, we managed to acquire the rarest Switch console in the world. The Nintendo Switch LABO console! We got it directly from the winner back then!”
What did you have to do to get the Switch? With Nintendo Labo, you can use the mobile parts of the Switch for various games and with a bit of creativity, also create your own games.
In the “Creator Contest,” you had to submit your own creations, which were then evaluated by Nintendo. Among others, (via nintendo.co.uk):

The cardboard game Labo was a quirky idea that fits perfectly into Nintendo’s concept. It had some fans, and to this day you can buy crazy constructions from Nintendo, even a VR headset for the Switch with cardboard elements.
And apparently, developers also took some inspiration from the contest: A controller for wiping – Nintendo brings a quirky toilet game to the Switch
