Bad news for all CoD fans – Season 1 of Call of Duty: Vanguard and the Pacific update of the Battle Royale Warzone have been postponed by nearly a week. The new map “Caldera” for Warzone will therefore arrive later.
When is the new release? The release of Warzone: Pacific and Season 1 of CoD: Vanguard is now scheduled to start 6 days later than previously planned:

What is happening on December 8 in Warzone?
The Battle Royale takes over the complete graphic engine of Vanguard and gets a brand new map – the Pacific island “Caldera”:
Vast beaches, humid jungle areas, and well-kept residential complexes – what sounds like an escape from the German winter is the new map of Warzone, which is very different from its predecessor “Verdansk”.
Starting December 8, you will no longer launch Warzone from the Modern Warfare launcher, but together with the new Vanguard. Whether you can play the new Warzone map immediately depends on whether you have purchased Vanguard. Buyers have 24 hours of early access:
- Caldera access for Vanguard buyers: December 8
- Caldera access without Vanguard: December 9
Without early access, you can already test the new graphics, but only on the small, familiar map Rebirth Island. All information about the significant change in Warzone can be found here:
What is happening on December 8 in Vanguard?
All details about the start of the first season are not yet known. However, there will definitely be a substantial amount of new content:
- Start of Season 1 on December 8
- 3 new maps for multiplayer
- 3 operators to unlock
- New alliances, missions, and more for the zombie mode
- Battle Pass with 2 new weapons
It is still unclear whether the zombie mode will be expanded with the important “Easter Egg”. So far, the mode is just a shooting gallery without a real goal. The zombies do get a power-up with each completed round, but nothing changes significantly after a certain point.
We know for sure that the first Vanguard “Battle Pass” will launch and will also bring 2 new weapons. The roadmap also mentions new “equipment”. There may also be new killstreaks, grenades, or similar items.
Just under 2 weeks before the actual release, the most important update of Warzone this year is being postponed. How this will affect the schedule of the 3 events that were supposed to run before the launch of Caldera is still not entirely clear.
