Since a strong buff, the FAL is one of the absolute killers in Call of Duty: Warzone, yet hardly anyone chooses the semi-automatic weapon. A leak has now shown an attachment that could suddenly change that.
What kind of leak is this? The FAL has been one of the theoretically strongest weapons in the game since its buff, but in practice, it looks different. However, if the leak is true, that could change suddenly.
The Twitter account “Modern Warzone”, which is one of the biggest leakers of Call of Duty: Warzone (DougDagnabbit), listed his personal tier list of the Battle Royale in a tweet. As a small side note, he casually dropped that he discovered a “Full-Auto Conversion” for the FAL in the data. Here is the tweet:
What doesn’t even deserve a separate tweet for him could significantly disrupt the Warzone arsenal.
After the subtle nerf of the Grau 5.56, many soldiers are playing other weapons more often again. Although the stable AR remains one of the best weapons in Warzone, you now more often see a Kilo, M13, or the best LMG in Warzone, the Bruen Mk9 running across the battlefield. However, the FAL hardly gets any attention.
FAL as an automatic rifle would likely be very overpowered
Why could the FAL become more popular because of this? Despite the really strong buff of the FAL, which was already among the strongest weapons, hardly anyone picks the assault rifle. The thing shoots in semi-automatic fire mode, meaning in single-shot mode.
What is tolerable with the strong sniper rifles in Warzone is something that hardly anyone wants to play on their main weapon for short and medium distances. But if the weapon should actually get an automatic fire mode, that might look very different. If you want to see the FAL even without automatic fire, here is our special on the FAL, with setups and important info:
What should the attachment offer? Some of the “conversion kits” that currently exist for some weapons change the caliber of the guns and the general properties. The submachine gun AUG, for example, becomes an assault rifle with its “ammo kit” and offers a completely different gunplay.
A conversion of the FAL should change the weapon as little as possible, then it could really take off:
- Rate of fire remains at about 500 RPM, just automatic fire
- Ammo capacity increased to at least 30, better 40 rounds
- The damage profiles and ranges do not change
However, the weapon is already pretty strong, maybe even overpowered. The damage dealt by the weapon is fantastic, and with the low rate of fire, you can control the recoil well. If that also applies to the new auto-fire mode, the FAL gets a lot closer to the title of “best weapon in Warzone”.
How certain is this? It is a leak from the game data, and a release is by no means certain. So take the information with a good portion of skepticism. However, the finding of such a file is often a clear indication that something is coming in Warzone.
The still short history of Warzone is closely linked with leaks and unwanted pre-information. Even the release of the Battle Royale was fueled by leaks for weeks and even now players are getting a lot of information about new content beforehand:
- Sniper with explosive ammunition leaked – Is in the game
- Spotter Scope leaked – Is in the game
- World Champion Bundle leaked with 69 items – Is in the game
Of course, that doesn’t mean that automatic fire for the FAL is coming, but Warzone leaks based on game files can often be looked at more closely.
Experience has shown that the chance is relatively high that there is something to it. By the way, the current biggest leak is the suspected changes with Season 5. An atomic explosion in Verdansk is considered inevitable by many players and leakers.
