Call of Duty: Modern Warfare brings with its new mode “Warzone” not only a Battle Royale, but there is also a second mode called Plunder. Here you’ll find out how the extra mode works and where to find the most cash.
What kind of mode is this? With the popular first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the Warzone arrived yesterday with Update 1.17. In addition to the expected Battle Royale, there’s a second, innovative mode.
Plunder is less about surviving and taking out opponents, but rather about collecting cash. And a lot of it. Here you will find out how the mode works and what currently brings in the most cash.
Plunder brings unexpected variety to Warzone
Which team wins? Instead of hunting down opponents, you search for cash mountains here. One million dollars is the goal, and the team that reaches this milestone first has a good chance of winning.
Similar to Battle Royale, the Plunder rounds are designed for about 30 minutes. You jump out of the plane and can let loose in and around Verdansk. But here the similarities almost end. Here are the win conditions:
- 30 minutes per round to collect 1 million.
- If the 30 minutes expire and no team has 1 million, the team with the most cash wins.
- If a team reaches a million before the 30 minutes, “overtime” starts.
- Overtime lasts 3 minutes, cash receives a 1.5 multiplier, and teams can catch up.
- The team with the most cash after the 3 minutes wins.
What other features are there? The mechanics around it also look quite different. After dying and a 15-second respawn time, you can return to the fight and bring your own loadout. Furthermore, the play area does not shrink over time.
Thus, the Plunder mode offers a comprehensive change from the typical BR rules:
- Respawn is activated – After 15 seconds, you can jump back in.
- The circle does not close – The play area remains the same size until the end.
- You don’t lose everything upon death – You only lose a bit of cash.
- Spawn with personal loadouts – You don’t need to collect weapons, you bring your own stuff.
- There is a lot more cash – The loot drops give you many more dollars than in the BR mode.
- Teams with the most cash are marked – You constantly know where the teams with the largest cash piles are.
- Cash can be secured – To protect you and your money from robberies, you can airlift cash at certain locations.
During the round, you will see a bar at the bottom left that fills up to the million and shows your current placement. This way you can see exactly where you stand and how long you still need to break the million. The mode works, like the BR, also solo or as a duo team, but you will be at a disadvantage.
The most cash comes from 3 specific actions
The YouTuber “Inkslasher” has already played a few rounds of “Plunder” (here’s the English video) and has directly identified the current best actions with the most cash:
- Contracts – Search for and use the contracts on the map; they bring in a lot of cash.
- Helicopter – Take guided missiles with you; taking down helicopters brings in a lot of dollars.
- Supply Drops – On the map, you will see supply drops marked with a dollar sign; these bring in tons of money.
The YouTuber believes it would be best to drive around the map in a vehicle and hit the points that promise the most cash. Take down choppers and check at extraction points while other teams want to secure their money – this way, you can quickly fill your first million.
