With Season 6 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone, a new DMR has entered the game – the SP-R 208. Pro-warzone player Nick “Nickmercs” Kolcheff has now showcased his setup for the new overpowered weapon.
What makes the weapon OP? With Season 6, two weapons came into play that apparently don’t work quite as intended. On one hand, the AS VAL assault rifle shoots through walls as if they weren’t even there. And on the other hand, the DMR SP-R 208 and that piece has been wreaking havoc in Warzone since then.
Because the weapon currently has no “bullet drop”. This means you hit exactly the point you aim at. The bullet is not pulled down by simulated gravity.
While you don’t have a proper “hitscan” since the bullet takes some time to travel, the DMR is currently in top form, and you should use it. It’s important to use the ammunition attachment “.338 Lapua Mag 5-R-Magazine”.
Warzone: SP-R 208 Setup without Bullet Drop
Which setup should I try? Pro Nickmercs demonstrated in an English video his setup for the new OP weapon and is thrilled with the sniper rifle:
- Muzzle: Suppressor (Monolith)
- Barrel: SP-R 26″
- Laser: Tactical Laser
- Scope: Solozero SP-R 28mm
- Ammunition: .338 Lapua Mag 5-R-Magazine
The build represents a good mix of aiming stability and speed. The large barrel gives you recoil control, and the laser allows you to aim at a good pace. With Lapua ammunition, you trigger the OP effect that makes the weapon’s bullet drop virtually disappear.
As a scope, Nickmercs uses the special sniper scope of the SP-R. This gives you a strong 7x magnification, but you cannot adjust the zoom level and enemies can see your scope flashing. Check out Nickmercs’ video if you want to see the gun in action:
Will the weapon stay like this? So far, the developers have not given any hint of a planned nerf for the weapon. The situation is different for the AS VAL’s wallbang. However, in its current state, the SP-R 208 is far ahead of its competitors and is considered the best sniper in the game. It is rather unlikely that the CoD makers will not eventually adjust this.
Use the OP weapon as long as it still provides an advantage. Your opponents will certainly do the same. Whether the sniper will still belong to the best weapons in Warzone remains to be seen.
Which sniper rifles are effective in Warzone? If one of the sniper rifles isn’t OP, then a good sniper in Warzone actually only needs 2 requirements:
- The weapon must be able to take out an enemy with full armor with a headshot
- You must handle the weapon well
Overall, with the SP-R 208, a total of 5 weapons in Warzone can now take down enemies with one hit. But aiming stability and bullet speed also play a role. Here you will find the 3 best sniper setups complete with loadout.
