The RAM-7 is one of the hits in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but usually stays sulking in the closet in Warzone. MeinMMO shows you why this assault rifle is definitely worth it in Battle Royale and provides a tested setup from a pro Warzone player.
What kind of weapon do we have here? The RAM-7 is based on the Israeli rifle TAR-21 and comes with the smaller assault rifle caliber 5.56 in Modern Warfare. It shares its damage profile with several weapons:
Weapons with “28 / 23 / 18” damage profile
- Kilo 141
- Grau 5.56
- M4A1
- RAM-7
However, it offers the highest fire rate on the list and accordingly the greatest damage potential – but its stability suffers for it. In Call of Duty: Warzone, the rifle has been rather less popular due to its particular recoil, as all-round rifles should deliver precise hits up to 100 meters.
But the recent nerfs of the stable overpowered weapons brought back guns that haven’t been on the radar for a long time. The RAM-7 is definitely one of those. You can find more details about the assault rifle in our weapon guide for the RAM-7.
Light Assault Rifle Leaves a Strong Impression
What strengths does the RAM-7 have? The assault rifle stands out the most with its high damage combined with the short aiming time. Despite its unusual kick to the left when firing, the RAM is quite controllable. If you are currently using the Kilo 141, the RAM-7 might suit you as well: Both assault rifles share their tendency to the left.
In direct comparison with its Warzone competition, it is only outperformed by the CR-56 AMAX. The heavy assault rifle also brings a rather wild character and requires some practice for control. Additionally, it takes about 20% longer to aim than the RAM-7, balancing its chances again. With chest shots, the single-shot weapon FAL can still compete, but is rather rarely used as an all-round weapon for long distances in the loadouts.

The numbers look really exciting when it comes to headshot damage, delivering brutal damage. The competition easily outperforms it at the important distance of 0 to 40 meters. However, against the FAL, there is no match. Headshots with the single-shot weapon take your enemies down in an unreachable time.

What weaknesses does the RAM-7 have? The assault rifle deals a lot of damage if you are good shots. Your advantage against the AMAX is your mobility, but if you shoot at the same time, you must land headshots or take cover to have a chance.
And here the RAM-7 doesn’t make it easy for you. With attachments for better aiming, the weapon becomes quite stable, but is no comparison with the M13, which you hardly need to readjust. You aim super quickly, but then you also have to get the bullets on the enemy. Additionally, there is only space for a maximum of 50 shots in the magazine, while the colleagues M4A1, M13, and Kilo 141 allow 60 shots.
For F2P Warzone players, this isn’t so cool either: The weapon required a challenge from you. It came to the game back then with the Battle Pass of Season 1 and is not one of the standard weapons.
Warzone RAM-7 Setup by Pro
What setup should I try? Warzone pro Nick “Nickmercs” Kolcheff shows in one of his English YouTube videos how he wins a RAM-7 round easily with his team. With the MP5 as a secondary weapon, they shoot their way through Verdansk, earning a well-deserved victory with more than 60 team kills:
Nickmercs RAM-7 Setup
- Muzzle: Silencer (Monolith)
- Barrel: FSS Ranger
- Optic: Holo Sight (Corps Combat)
- Underbarrel: Command Grip
- Ammunition: 50-shot magazine
With the silencer, he conceals his position when shooting and increases his range. The Monolith suppressor is one of the strongest attachments in the game and is standard on many Warzone weapons. Together with the “FSS Ranger” barrel, it increases his range for the 28-damage hits to over 40 meters.
The barrel gives you some vertical recoil control, and the Command Grip helps with horizontal recoil. If you can handle the round “Iron Sight” (rear & front), you can switch to the “Rubberized Grip Tape” to further reduce your vertical recoil.
After every nerf of a top weapon, there is a phase of finding the next weapon that is a little ahead of the others. Sometimes the new guns that come into play rock too. They might soon be in high demand:
Clearly, a good weapon is important, but the right tactic leads to victory. Missions, power positions, and good knowledge of the city of Verdansk play a big role. Through special codes, you can even enter bunkers where you can find loot in every round. Here are the codes and all bunker locations.
