CoD and PlayStation have periodically had exclusive content. The PS Plus subscription regularly includes operator packs that grant you skins. Normally, the packs are exclusive, but they have now also appeared on PC and Xbox, and that for €20.
On PlayStation, you can regularly get combat packs for the current CoD and Warzone with the PS Plus subscription. These cost you nothing and include, in addition to an operator skin, extra cosmetic goodies.
These packs were actually exclusive to the Sony console and highlighted the years-long partnership of the two brands. But suddenly, the combat packs also appeared in the Xbox and PC store, but this time for 2,400 CoD points, the equivalent of €20. This is shown by CharlieIntel in their tweet. The community, however, is not very positive about this.
The monthly free games in the PS Plus subscription are a highlight for many. You can see the current games here:
PS Plus: Games in November 2023 are known – Send you into the golden age of gangsters
It shouldn’t surprise you that they are charging you money for something like this
The community on reddit is outraged by this offer, even though some do not see the combat pack as a bad thing:
- nawstrawdamus:
They wouldn’t be charging a price for it if the idiots weren’t buying everything in the store
- Read1390:
I’ll just say this: You wanted this live-service model and battle passes and are crying out for skins that cost over $25. It shouldn’t surprise you that they are charging you money for something like this.
- IIPrayzII:
I mean, it was an exclusive skin, I don’t know what you expected. They never said it would be free after the year of exclusivity, just available
Many users also note that, at its core, it wasn’t free, as you have paid for the PS Plus subscription. But on the other hand, Xbox users also pay for their online gaming.
What do you think about the topic? Do you think it’s good that you can now purchase these combat packs on other platforms or should these offers also be free for the other players? Let us know in the comments.
CoD: MW3 is currently not getting the best publicity, but MeinMMO author Christos is looking forward to a special mode:
I would have ignored CoD: MW3, but a mode will definitely keep me entertained for months
