Sometimes stats on a mod are not everything. This is also the case in this example. Some mods in CoD MW3 may look good at first, but will definitely cause your death.
Which mod is being discussed? A thread on Reddit recently caused some stir. In it, the user Karma_Doesnt_Matter points out that the visible laser modifications that can be attached to various weapons in the game will lead to your certain death. There are different types of lasers, some of which are always on.
The laser modifications that are always on reveal your position, especially when you are about to go around a corner. Opponents will see your laser first and can already aim at the corner before you appear.
Why are the modifications popular among beginners? The problem is that the laser modifications provide good stats on paper when you equip them. But the best stats are of little use when opponents already know where you are. This is why beginners tend to choose these modifications and fall into the trap. Beginners should rather choose other modifications to remain less conspicuous.

What other things can give you away? On Reddit, other things are mentioned that can reveal you. For example, the flashy costumes like cats, or those that glow.
They are simply so conspicuous compared to normal camouflage patterns that you get spotted right away. Even if the costumes do not provide improved stats, some players wear them just for aesthetic reasons.
What do the players say about it? On Reddit, players generally agree that the lasers look good on paper, but the corner problem makes them rather bad. Knights_Up describes the extreme situation: “This guy is using cheats! He knows where I am all the time!!! This game loves cheaters!!!”
Said the guy who is dressed as a cat and running around with two SMGs with pink lasers that are a kilometer long.”
SlammedOptima thinks: “Honestly, at least the cat is wearing military gear and the colors are somewhat muted. The real problems are the characters that literally glow. You are literally wearing a “shoot here” sign.”
Other comments prefer not to let players know that the lasers are so easily visible. CAPSL0CKS0N69 says: “You need to delete this post, buddy. There’s nothing to see here, kids. Put your lasers back on and go about your business.”
We will not comply with the Reddit user’s request and prefer to inform you about the topic. Other Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 players, however, are having their wishes fulfilled by the developers. They are now removing an annoying feature, just as requested by the community.
