The communication around the release time of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is somewhat confusing. MeinMMO lists the start times for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, as well as Steam and the Battle.net launcher.
When can I play CoD MW2? The campaign has been online for digital pre-orders for over a week now, the multiplayer starts in a few hours:
- PlayStation: 0:00
- Xbox: 0:00
- Steam: 6:00
- Battle.net: 6:00
The first content creators are already playing. It is only through this that we now know for sure that CoD MW2 will go online for us on consoles at 0:00.
They are either using the New Zealand trick, which is not quite as easy to implement this year or they have received a special early key from the developers.
Update: In the meantime, there is a variation of the New Zealand trick, that allows you to start earlier on console.

Modern Warfare 2 is the direct successor to CoD MW 2019 and is set in a world very similar to ours. No setting far in the future or in World War II like the predecessor Call of Duty: Vanguard.
