In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone the first update of Season 5 was released today. This brought some changes and new playlists, but also server issues.
What was this update about? At 18:16, the developer Infinity Ward announced that a new update for the two shooters would be rolled out. This update includes the following changes:
- Bug fixes for an error message when opening the Armory and an exploit in the Shooting Range.
- An increase in headshot damage, but a decrease in close combat damage for the FAL.
- A buff in the form of increased range and more ADS speed for the Holger-26.
- A buff in the form of increased range and more ADS speed for the M91.
- A nerf through the reduction of range for the Bruen MK9, currently the strongest weapon in Warzone.
Additionally, there was an adjustment to the playlist, which we have already presented to you here. For instance, the new mode “Bare Bones” has been released, but “Shoot the Ship” unfortunately did not make it into the rotation.
The patch brought the first innovations since the start of Season 5 last week. The graphics bug that is annoying many players right now, however, has not yet been fixed according to the patch notes. Check out how the nerfs affect the two top weapons Bruen Mk9 and FAL:
Server issues and queues after the patch
What problems is the update causing? The new patch, however, caused issues after its release. Some players are having difficulty connecting to the servers or have to wait in queues.
However, the developers at Infinity Ward are aware of the problem, as they stated on Twitter.
One of the emerging errors has the code 8192. This is a connectivity problem that is presumably due to the load on the servers being too high.
This should come as no surprise, as many players wanted to continue playing quickly after the update.
