In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the battle royale spin-off Warzone, Season 5 has started. It now finally allows you to inspect your weapons – a small but popular feature.
How does inspecting work? Even before the start of Season 5, it had been implied that you could inspect your weapons in CoD: Modern Warfare and Warzone. Now, the small but popular feature is live.
To take a closer look at your weapons, you simply need to hold down the left button of the D-pad for a few seconds. On the PC keyboard, weapon inspection is default assigned to the “i” key but can be reassigned as desired.
Does this feature provide any advantages? When it comes to winning, the inspection feature probably won’t really help you. Quite the opposite: standing around on the map admiring your fancy weapon makes you easy prey – for example, for snipers camping on rooftops. Nevertheless, players are very happy about the new opportunity.
Players celebrate the small but nice feature in Call of Duty
This is what the community says: Even before the start of the season, players had emphasized their excitement about the new feature. And now that it’s here, the joy is great – especially among detail-oriented players. For example, on reddit:
On reddit, most reactions to the feature are very positive. After all, you can finally admire all the cool skins, stickers, and cosmetics that you have earned through hard work in all their glory.
- “Some weapon designs are hard to appreciate when the weapon is held in default status. I have previously been looking for a light source and then reloaded my weapon, which gave me a glimpse of the color and reflective light,” says a user (via reddit): “This new opportunity eliminates that process, now there is an extended look instead of a brief second while reloading.”
Others joke that the feature probably took up 20 gigabytes of the new update. But that sounds rather unlikely – after all, there are still plenty of other contents in Season 5. What they are about, you can find out in the patch notes for Season 5.
