Currently, many players in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and CoD Warzone are frustrated by broken matchmaking and seemingly missing progress in the Battle Pass. However, the developers are working on solutions for these two annoying problems.
What is the issue with these problems? Last week, Modern Warfare received the Update 1.20 on April 28, which introduced some issues to the game. The following weekend (April 30), there was another emergency patch that, for some, made the situation even worse.
The two most annoying problems that resulted are
- a broken (or even more broken) matchmaking
- and seemingly no progress in the Battle Pass
Matchmaking and Battle Pass Broken – What’s Next
This is the issue with matchmaking: Since the update and especially the hotfix for matchmaking, it now takes some players longer for a match to start. In extreme cases, and depending on the mode, players sometimes wait 15 to 20 minutes before it finally begins.
This is the issue with the Battle Pass: Since Update 1.20, more players have come forward complaining that they could no longer achieve progress in the Battle Pass.
For some, progress was then “added” in lengthy pop-up sessions after multiple logins and logouts, while for others, nothing happens at all.
What do the developers say? The criticism and problems have not gone unheard. Infinity Ward has already stated that they are aware of these two annoying (and other problems) and are working hard on a solution.
Work is already in progress for a fix for matchmaking, as Joe Cecot, the Co-Design Director for multiplayer, recently explained on Twitter.
Work is also already being done on a fix for the Battle Pass, as Activision Support mentioned in a tweet.
The Battle Pass progress you achieve in the meantime is not lost, so everything is fine. The pass simply appears inactive for some players.
When exactly should the fixes arrive? No exact date has been given for either fix. However, both are currently of the highest priority for the developers.
It is quite conceivable that the solution for these annoying problems will arrive this week – possibly Thursday or even today or tomorrow morning (depending on what time the update goes live in the USA).
