Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is getting further updates. The developers have already revealed which issues they are currently working on.
The developers revealed: The Co-Design Director of Multiplayer, Joe Cecot, and the Communications Manager, Ashton Williams, have responded to some tweets from the community. In these, they revealed that
- they are working on the shield
- the killfeed
- and serious issues with the new 2vs2 Gunfight tournament mode.
They have also become aware of a “gamebreaking” error during login.
What the upcoming updates bring
What changes will be made to the shield? The shield is one of the possible primary weapons in Modern Warfare and has caused frustration due to invulnerability bugs in the past.
Some players find the shields too strong anyway. They withstand too much and it is frustrating to play against them. They asked for a nerf and Cecot announced that fixes are “in the works.”
What changes will be made to the killfeed? The killfeed shows which players were killed by whom with which weapons. However, there are some issues. For example, some notifications disappear earlier than others, even though they occurred later. Such things disrupt the overview and are to be fixed.
What is the issue with the tournament mode? The recently introduced 2vs2 Gunfight mode with the patch from November 25 allows players to compete in a tournament. However, there are errors where teams simply drop out without playing.
This leads to significant disruptions in the tournament brackets and is on the developers’ list.
What is the login error? Since the latest update, some players have encountered an issue where they cannot log in. They receive error messages and only the option to leave the game.
Williams has already responded. The error is likely being investigated now.
When will the updates arrive? So far, there is no specific date for the fixes. However, Cecot hinted that some of the fixes will “not come in the next update.”

What concerns players? In a reddit thread, a user has compiled issues that are currently worrying many players. None of the problems listed here are in the list:
- The matchmaking, which has been causing trouble for a long time
- Visibility/lighting issues
- Invisible enemies
- Increasing number of aimbot users
- Tank balance in Ground War, for which a nerf was previously promised
- Boring gameplay (too many campers)
- Scoreboard with too little information
- Steps too loud
The thread has now (November 26 at 18:40) received over 7,300 upvotes and significant support. Fans are particularly annoyed that the developers remain silent on these issues while addressing others.
