The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is facing new issues. After some bugs appeared post-release, players have now discovered a major glitch: some walls display enemies behind them.
This is the problem: Players can currently see the nameplates of their opponents through walls. This is the case with some walls made of particle board, which can be penetrated by many weapons and all full metal jacket rounds.
It is therefore possible to see and take out enemies through walls without ever having to expose oneself. Reddit user T4yz posted an example from the new map Shoot House:
Where does this occur? Shoot House is not the only map where this glitch happens. There are also spots on the slightly older map Grazna Raid where enemies can be seen behind or even completely through walls.
A brief overview of affected spots was posted by user BaconOG:
No fix announced yet – Hardcore mode is safer
When will this be fixed? The patch notes for today’s patch 1.09 do not yet contain a fix for this bug. We do not know exactly when a fix will come or if patch 1.09 contains an undocumented fix.
How can I protect myself? To avoid being suddenly shot through walls, you should be cautious behind cover in many of the multiplayer modes at the moment. Always expect that the enemy can still see you if there are other spots.
However, if you want to be absolutely sure that you won’t die from this bug, you should play the realism or hardcore modes. In “Realism”, many elements of the classic HUD are removed – including the nameplates.

In the realism variants, it is not possible to see nameplates, even through walls. The downside here is that you also go down much faster when hit.
