In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the next Open Beta starts this Thursday, September 19. We’ll tell you how you can participate on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
What kind of beta is this? It is the first beta in which players on Xbox One and PC can participate. Last week, a beta was held for a few days that was exclusively for PlayStation 4.
Now the Crossplay Beta is starting, and all fans can finally check out the shooter. However, there are again different phases of the beta that do not allow all fans to participate.

How can you participate? The beta runs from September 19 to September 23. However, there are two phases to consider:
- 09/19 to 09/20: All players on PS4 and players on PC and Xbox One who pre-ordered the game
- 09/21 to 09/23: All players on all platforms can play
What makes this beta so special: This beta is all about the motto of Crossplay. You can play with both consoles and the PC together. The servers are not limited to individual platforms.
What happens in the beta? There will be quite a few new features in the second week of the Open Beta. According to CharlieIntel, the large 64-player mode Ground War will be playable for the first time this weekend.
It is expected to be unlocked on September 21. In Ground War, teams of 32 players face off against each other.
In addition to Ground War, the previous game modes will also be available: Gunfight and the classic 6 vs 6.
It will also be interesting to see how the new players in the beta react to the minimap. After massive criticism from PS4 players last weekend, Infinity Ward ultimately added a minimap, but it is slightly different.
What happens next? There are currently no further plans for betas. After this weekend, the Open Beta will end. It remains to be seen whether there will be any further test phases before the release on October 25.
