When does the Modern Warfare Beta run? The Modern Warfare Beta is divided into 2 phases:
- Phase 1 is PS4 exclusive and starts on September 12.
- In Phase 2, interested players can join on all platforms – including PC and Xbox One. Phase 2 starts on September 19.

When exactly does the preload start on PS4?
This is the start time for the beta preload on PS4: The Modern Warfare Beta is almost here on PS4. The preload is set to start today, September 10, for pre-orderers – between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM German time.
When does the preload start on Xbox One and PC?
This is what we know so far about the preload on PC and Xbox One: According to Activision, the preload for PC and Xbox One is slated to start next week – before September 19.
Players on these two platforms can join the Modern Warfare Beta starting next week (from September 19) – with or without early access.
How to download the Modern Warfare Beta on PS4
Download for digital pre-orderers: If you pre-ordered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare digitally in the PS Store, the preload is straightforward.
As soon as it becomes available on September 10, head to the PS Store and search for “Modern Warfare”. You should find the Beta there. Select it and download it accordingly.
You can start the Beta on September 12. Your early access will be recognized automatically.
Download for retail pre-orderers: If you pre-ordered Modern Warfare at a retailer of your choice, you should receive a Modern Warfare Beta code via email from them. You need to redeem it on the official beta site under “Redeem Code”.
After doing this, you should receive a beta code from Activision via email today, September 10, which you need to redeem in the PS Store under “Redeem Code”. Your early access should then be correctly registered, allowing you to jump into the battles on September 12.
Download without pre-order: If you haven’t pre-ordered, you may have to wait a little longer. Because without a pre-order, as of September 11, the Beta is not yet available for download. Activision has not yet provided a specific time for this.
Can I use the data from the Modern Warfare Alpha? Some players still have the data from the PS4-exclusive Modern Warfare Alpha on their hard drive.
However, you can delete it without worry. As Activision has stated, the Modern Warfare Beta will have its own client, which must be downloaded separately.
