The new installment of the “Call of Duty” series is still a bit of an adjustment for many fans. Even with the trailer shown at E3, opinions were divided among players, as the futuristic scenario does not appeal to everyone. The latest information about the co-op mode also shows that the developers are not afraid to try something “different”.

Zombies in Spaceland – The name says it all!

The co-op survival mode takes place in the 80s and greets you with a fitting soundtrack. In this mode, you can choose between 4 characters that were typical of the 80s (Poindexter, Jock, Rapper, Valley Girl). With your characters, you must shoot your way through an amusement park filled with zombies. In the colorful neon lights, the zombies even show off their breakdancing skills in the video!

The storyline reveals what this mode is about:

“Zombies in Spaceland tells the story of 4 ambitious actors who go to an audition at a mysterious movie theater. The former director Willard Wyler invited them there. However, the actors do not know that it’s not about a “normal” role in a film. They are transformed into characters and transported directly into Wyler’s film to fight against waves of zombies.”

Willard Wyler is portrayed by Paul Reubens, known from the series Gotham or the movie Pee-wee’s Big Holiday. The voices of the 4 characters will also sound familiar to you, at least in the original English version. Seth Green (Robot Chicken, Austin Powers) voices Poindexter, Ike Barinholtz (Mad TV, Suicide Squad) voices the Jock, Jay Pharoah (Saturday Night Live, Ride Along) lends his voice to the Rapper, and Sasheer Zamata (Saturday Night Live, Inside Amy Schumer) voices the Valley Girl.

What is David Hasselhoff doing in Call of Duty?

Because the game mode has not yet fully captured the 80s, they brought in even more celebrity. Someone who knows what can be done with music (Whether “good” or “bad”, let’s leave that unresolved) must not be missing as a DJ.
