In a new trailer, Activision reveals details about the multiplayer of CoD: Infinite Warfare, which we present to you here.
In an overview trailer for the multiplayer of Infinite Warfare, various Rigs were presented that you can use to jump into battle. Additionally, there is information on Payloads, Traits, equipment, and maps. You can find the video at the end of the article.
Combat Rigs
A Rig is referred to as a combat suit that the character wears during multiplayer matches. There are a total of 6 different Rigs that can be customized with powerful weapons. The different Rigs are Warfighter, Merc, FTL, Stryker, Synaptic, and Phantom.
Each Rig provides the player with 3 different Payloads to choose from. Depending on the gameplay style, one can opt for one of the Payloads. Additionally, there are 3 different Traits that can be used in combination with Payloads. These specializations are intended to provide more variety in battles.
Before the game, you select a combination of Payload and Trait that you wish to play with. Depending on the play style or map, there are certain combinations that work better than others.
CoD Infinite Warfare: Overview of Rigs, Payloads, and Traits
In this overview, we show you the various Rigs and which Payloads and Traits you can equip them with.
Warfighter
The Warfighter is suitable for the Assault playstyle and has a medium range. With the Warfighter, you have a fast playstyle that is great for quickly reaching objectives.
Payloads
- Claw – A rapid-fire weapon with ricocheting ammunition. You can shoot opponents directly in front of you or take out enemies behind hard-to-see corners using ricocheting ammunition.
- Combat Focus – The player receives double Streak Points for a limited time.
- Overdrive– A temporary speed boost.
Traits
- Ping – Kills and assists activate a ping at the location of the slain opponent. This reveals other nearby enemies. If one of the revealed enemies is killed, you receive bonus points for that kill.
- Persistence – Scorestreaks do not reset when you die. However, you need more points to reach a Scorestreak. Each Scorestreak can only be activated once per round.
- Resupply – After killing enemies with bullet weapons, loot bags appear that allow you to replenish health and ammunition.
Merc
The Merc is effective at securing specific areas. He is strong as a defender, making him a good choice for players with a defensive playstyle. Equipped with strong weapons, you can quickly eliminate enemy threats.
Payloads
- Steel Dragon– A heavy beam weapon that targets multiple enemies simultaneously.
- Bull Charge – Equips the player with an armored shield to effectively navigate through enemy defenses.
- Reactive Armor – A high-voltage armor system that destroys incoming bullets from small weapons.
Traits
- Man-At-Arms– You start with full ammunition and your movement is not hindered by weapons.
- Infusion– After taking damage, health regenerates faster.
- Shockwave – You can activate this ability while jumping, causing your character to deal a strong shock to the ground.
FTL
This Rig utilizes current technologies to gain advantages in battles. It is fast and suitable for players who like to take out enemies up close and then move on quickly.
Payloads
- Eraser– A compact energy-based weapon that evaporates enemies.
- FTL Jump– A thrust that moves the player a short distance forward.
- Phase Shift – The player shifts to another dimension where he only takes damage from players in that dimension.
Traits
- Power Slide– The player has a better slide function that is faster and farther than usual. Additionally, he can use the weapon’s aim device while sliding. The boost costs are also reduced.
- Supercharge– Killing enemies causes cooldown packs to appear, filling the super meter for team members.
- Perception– You receive a warning when enemies outside your view are looking in your direction.
Stryker
Its equipment suppresses enemies and makes life difficult for them. Additionally, with this Rig, you can set up turrets to defend specific zones. As a tactical player who wants to support his team, Stryker would be a suitable choice.
Payloads
- Gravity Vortex Gun – Fires a slow projectile that alters gravitational pull, drawing enemies in and dealing damage.
- Micro Turret– A small turret that can be placed on various surfaces.
- Centurion– Creates a strong electromagnetic field that destroys enemy projectiles.
Traits
- Trophy Drone– Destroys a lethal grenade and then recharges.
- Relay– Placed devices alert you to enemies nearby.
- Hardened – Placed devices and drones have increased hit points and persist even after the player’s death.
Phantom
A sniper with high stealth capabilities is the advantage of this Rig. This allows you to almost become invisible with the abilities and take down enemies from stealth with your weapons.
Payloads
- Ballista EM3– A highly precise electromagnetic projectile launcher with increased penetration power. Can pin enemies to walls.
- Pulsar– An extended EM sensor that reveals enemy positions.
- Active Camo– Makes the player nearly invisible.
Traits
- Marked Target – When you damage enemies, they are marked. The mark blocks health regeneration for 5 seconds. If a marked target is killed, that death grants you bonus points.
- Heightened Senses – When you zoom in with your sniper rifle, you hear enemy sounds better and are alerted if enemies are nearby.
- Rearguard– You spawn with a shield on your back that protects you from attacks from behind. While the shield is active, melee attacks that do not come from the front have no effect.
Synaptic
A remote-controlled drone designed for speed and close combat. If you enjoy close-quarters combat or using dual machine guns from a distance, Synaptic is a good choice for you.
Payloads
- Equalizer– Dual machine guns that are deadly in close combat.
- Reaper– Switches to a fast melee mode.
- Rewind– Rewinds time and brings the player back to a previous position. Ammunition and health points are restored.
Traits
- Combat Burst – After each kill, the player receives increased movement speed for a short time.
- Rushdown– A fast-recharging jump pack that deals damage to enemies within a firefight area.
- Propulsion– With this ability, you can sprint in any (horizontal) direction at the push of a button.
Equipment and Weapon Crafting
The multiplayer brings a crafting system for primary and secondary weapons. Crafting operates with a salvage currency that you earn in multiplayer mode. The primary and secondary weapons have a modern design. Additionally, there are entirely new weapons with new features. It is a blend of familiar ballistic weapons, melee, energy, and prototype weapons. All weapons can be tailored to your personal playstyle.
In Infinite Warfare, there will be hundreds of weapons that you can acquire in-game. You can use the salvage currency to craft unique prototype weapons that have your cosmetic style and gun perks. The perks influence the function of a weapon, making it specialized for certain playstyles.
New equipment options also bring new functionalities in Infinite Warfare. For example, there is the Seeker Grenade that attaches to enemies before exploding. Additionally, there is the Black Hole Grenade, which creates a vortex that reveals and engulfs enemies.
Scorestreaks and Maps in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
The game will feature a mix of already known and new Scorestreaks. These reward players for various actions like kills, assists, or points earned. Veterans and new players can enjoy classic Scorestreaks like UAV and Counter-UAV. Additionally, there are new combat options like summoning an R-C8 robot. This heavily armored unit can either cover your back or players can take control and fire with the robot’s cannons.
The design of the various maps in Infinite Warfare will also be responsible for fast encounters. With the few different paths you can take in the maps, you quickly run into enemies and find yourself in fights. Lanes and wall runs are designed on the Black Ops system and provide many opportunities for flanking attacks.
The game modes in CoD Infinite Warfare offer familiar modes. Team Deathmatch is part of a CoD multiplayer. But also game modes based on objectives, such as Domination, Hardpoint, and Search and Destroy.
One of the new game modes is Defender, where you must keep a drone in your team’s possession for as long as possible. The drone attempts to upload data. During the upload process, the drone must be in your team’s possession. If you lose the drone during the upload, the timer resets and starts over.
Mission Teams
Players have an additional option to level up by joining mission teams. There are 4 different mission teams that players can choose from. Each team caters to different player types with its challenges, commanders, and rewards. Completing team missions grants players additional experience points and unique equipment or cosmetic items.
