Activision has now announced which contents of CoD Infinite Warfare will be available to players during the beta on PS4 and Xbox One.
The beta of CoD Infinite Warfare will be divided into 2 phases. The first phase runs from October 14 to October 17 and is only for PS4 players. The second phase runs from October 21 to October 24. Both PS4 and “Xbox One” players can participate in the 2nd beta phase. As a PC player, you do not have access to the beta of CoD Infinite Warfare. Console players have access to 3 maps, 3 combat rigs, and various game modes during the beta, where you can extensively test the maps and combat rigs.
Maps and game modes in the beta of Call of Duty Infinite Warfare
You can prove your skills on 3 different maps. One of these maps is called Frontier and features a space station near the planet Neptune as its setting. There is a long corridor with side paths through which you can flank the enemies. Frontier offers you 2 lanes.
The second map available in the beta is called Frost and features 3 pathways. In terms of setting, you are in a research facility built on one of Jupiter’s moons.
Map number 3 is called Throwback and features 3 lanes. The setting of this map resembles the USA in 1950, with typical street diners. The available game modes will rotate during the beta. Game modes include Team-Deathmatch, Domination, and Kill Confirmed. A new game mode is called Defender. In this mode, your team must hold onto a drone for as long as possible. The longer you possess the drone, the more points you earn. You can also pass the drone to other team members, making it harder for the opposing team to steal it.
Combat Rigs and mission teams
In Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, you can choose from various combat rigs that you use to deploy specific abilities. You can adjust these combat rigs situationally, even during a game. You can choose one payload and one trait. During the beta, the following 3 combat rigs are available to you:
Warfighter
The Warfighter is suitable for the assault playstyle and has a medium range. With this combat rig, you have an agile playstyle that is well-suited to quickly reach objectives. As payloads, there is a weapon with bouncing ammunition, temporarily increased streak points, or a short speed boost. The traits grant you either the opportunity for bonus points on kills, improved score streaks, or loot bags that replenish health and ammunition after a kill.
Merc
The Merc is well-suited for securing specific areas. He is a strong defender and thus a good choice for players with a defensive playstyle. Equipped with weapons that have high firepower, you can quickly eliminate an enemy threat with this combat rig. As payloads, there is a rapid multi-target weapon, an armored shield, or strong armor that absorbs bullets from small weapons. The traits offer the following advantages: full ammunition and weapons no longer restrict movement, faster health regeneration after taking damage, and an ability that performs a strong slam to the ground while jumping.
Synaptic
With this combat rig, you control a remote drone designed for speed and close combat. If you enjoy close combat or using dual machine guns at a distance, Synaptic is a good choice for you. With the payloads, you can equip Synaptic with dual machine guns, switch to a fast close combat mode, or use a rewind function that rewinds time. The player is returned to a previous position, and health points and ammunition are restored. As traits, you can choose between a movement speed boost after a kill, a jump pack that can deal extra damage, or the ability to sprint in all different horizontal directions.
With the mission teams, you can join a team and complete missions for that team. During the beta, you can choose between 2 mission teams. Completing missions increases your rank in a team, rewarding you with cosmetic items and prototype weapons.
