On the evening of October 2nd, the closed beta of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has started, but a mode can currently not be played, despite promises: the Zombie mode. We will show you why this is still grayed out.
Will the Zombie mode launch during the beta? Before the launch of the closed beta, Activision said that the beta will offer the Zombie mode in addition to the multiplayer mode. Fans can then try out the gigantic map of “Ashes of the Damned” to secure their beta rewards and gather XP.
Unfortunately, this mode has been grayed out since the start of the beta, and many are now asking whether the mode will launch or not. The good news: Yes, the mode will be playable in the beta, but not until October 3, 2025.
According to the Xbox post for the beta of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, there is a timeline that Activision is adhering to. This will gradually unlock all features that fans can fully test during the open beta.
On October 2nd, the launch of the multiplayer and closed beta was initially planned. On the 3rd, the Zombie mode is supposed to follow. From October 5th to 8th, all players (including fans without pre-orders) will be able to test all the important features from the beta.
When does the Zombie mode start exactly? This is unfortunately still not entirely clear. Since the beta was activated at 6 PM German time, we assume that the Zombie mode will be unlocked on October 3rd at 6 PM German time, after 24 hours have passed and the first day of testing is completed. As of the time of writing, the mode has not yet been activated (as of October 3, 12:02 PM).
In the meantime, you can still enjoy the multiplayer mode and test the various weapons that are supposed to be available at the release. But be careful, there are already some cheaters lurking on the servers who are ruining the fun for other fans: Player plays CoD: Black Ops 7 for the first time, which should be safe from cheaters, but is immediately taken out by a cheater
