In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the XM4 has been part of the meta for weeks. Now, the assault rifle could become even better for some players.
Which weapon is being referred to? The XM4, one of the assault rifles in Black Ops 6. It is one of the most popular weapons and has been part of the meta of Black Ops 6 since its release.
- The assault rifle stands out as a reliable all-rounder and is also available at level 0.
- The XM4 is a compromise of all weapon attributes: it has fairly high damage, a well-controllable recoil, solid mobility, and an acceptable rate of fire.
- The XM4 is not particularly strong or weak in any area, which allows it to perform well at both short and long distances, without being the best choice.
Now, the XM4 could become particularly attractive for players who want to use the assault rifle at longer distances.
New attachment eliminates recoil of the XM4
How has the weapon improved? In Black Ops 6, the event “Hit-List” is currently taking place, where the community can unlock various content if they collectively achieve enough kills. During this event, the CoD community has reached a milestone and unlocked the new weapon attachment “Buffer Weight Stock”.
The Buffer Weight Stock reduces the recoil of a weapon at the expense of mobility and aim down sights (ADS) speed; however, it cannot be equipped on all weapons. You can use the stock on the XM4, the XMG, and the DM-10.
The XM4 becomes a very strong fully automatic option at greater distances due to the attachment, as the recoil is extremely easy to control with the Buffer Weight Stock. Compared to the “Balanced Stock,” for example, the horizontal recoil is a strong 60% lower.
Not for aggressive players
Why is it only better for some players? The new attachment primarily provides an improvement when you fight at medium to long distances and have difficulties hitting your opponents due to recoil.
If you’re primarily fighting at short distances and aggressively attacking your opponents, the new attachment offers no advantage – at short distances, the recoil of the XM4 is anyway easy to control.
Since you lose mobility and ADS speed with the Buffer Weight Stock, you should rather opt for a different stock at short distances. Here we present such a build for the XM4: CoD Black Ops 6: XM4 Build – This is how you should play the all-rounder
