The Secret World – Santa’s Evil Helper
In many cultures, there is besides the good Nikolaus also his dark Knecht Krampus, who comes like a devil from ancient times and punishes naughty children. In the creepy online role-playing game The Secret World, the Krampus also stops by and gifts you with some creepy quests instead of presents. Among them is the awfully spooky Christmas conspiracy, which also contains killer clowns and could almost fit Halloween just as well.
Those who survive the horrors of Christmas will receive funny costumes and gifts. But only until January 2, and then the eerie Christmas is over.
WildStar – The True Face of Christmas
Christmas is the festival of love, contemplation, and family. All nonsense! In reality, it is all about consumption and commerce, at least when the greedy Protostar corporation from WildStar has its hands in the game.
Therefore, the little green clones have also parked a huge flying shopping street over Nexus and lure unsuspecting members of the Dominion or Exiles into the consumer hell. As things go wrong in all sorts of ways, your heroes are hired to solve problems in exchange for rewards. For example, by raising far too low prices, distracting aggressive sales bots, or extinguishing burning toys.
As a reward for your efforts, costumes and mounts await. The fun event runs until January 2.
Blade & Soul – Christmas in the Dungeon
Blade & Soul, the Kung-Fu anime MMO from NCSoft, always presents itself a little exaggerated. This also applies to Christmas. In hardly any MMO are there kitschy, yet somehow cool costumes. These can be obtained from special chests, but you can only get them from other players as gifts.
Or you get the outfits yourself, specifically in the Ice Storage. This dungeon contains special ice elves during the event, which you shoot with snow cannons. This will lure out a yeti boss, who also has some fitting loot. The colorful Christmas event runs until January 18.
ArcheAge – My Friend, the Grumpy Tree
The sandbox MMO ArcheAge is currently celebrating a kind of new beginning with the Revelation update. However, the Festival of the Winter Maiden is still an integral part of the yearly cycle in Trion’s colorful MMO. In memory of the Winter Maiden, you meet her messenger in Marianople and Cape Solis and receive festive quests from her.
Both towns are free of PvP and festively decorated. The Winter Maiden quests lead you to remote regions where you must build snowmen. As a reward, there is a particularly great prize: a grumpy grumbling tree as a battle companion. The Winter Maiden festival in ArcheAge lasts until January 11.
