Warhammer: Chaosbane is set to release between Spring and Summer 2019. The Warhammer hack&slash is now starting its beta with a new gameplay trailer.
This is shown in the trailer: The new trailer directly from developer BigBen Games is quite short. There are only about 30 seconds of gameplay to see. Two of the four available classes are shown, the High Elf Mage and the Imperial Soldier.
The two characters fight against the servants of the Chaos God Nurgle, who is known for diseases and plagues. True to Warhammer, it is brutal and bloody. According to the genre, there seems to be a multitude of enemies that players can hack their way through.
What is included in the beta? Primarily, gameplay is to be tested in the beta. However, you will only have access to two of the four classes. The Soldier and Mage will be playable, while the Slayer and Waywarden will come at a later date.
Co-op gameplay is already supposed to be supported, whether you want to play online with friends or via local co-op mode. However, online it may happen that classes are duplicated, as four players can form a group here.
How can I participate in the beta? The trailer is meant to promote the first beta of Warhammer: Chaosbane. This starts today, on March 7th and runs until March 13th. It can be played on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
To participate, the game must be pre-ordered through the official Chaosbane website. The Standard Edition is sufficient. The PC version costs 49.99€, and the versions for Xbox One and PS4 cost 59.99€ each.
The finished game is scheduled to be released on June 4th. Those who pre-order the Digital Deluxe or Magnus Edition can start playing as early as March 31st.
How large is the beta? Warhammer: Chaosbane will have different download sizes on the various platforms
- On PC, the game will be about 13.4GB
- On PS4, it will be about 4.7GB
- On Xbox One, it will be about 8.8GB
Fans are excited but critical
Players are skeptical: The video has already been well received on Reddit. Many fans are looking forward to a new hack&slay in a fantasy world, and Warhammer fans are also anticipating Chaosbane. Players who liked Vermintide 2, which is getting its first expansion in the summer are particularly excited.
However, the price is viewed critically. Nearly 50€ is too much for most gamers for what they have seen, especially in the new trailer. Some want to wait for the first reviews or to grab it on sale for 20€ or 30€.
