In Helldivers 2, there have been hints of new content that has come into the game unannounced: flying bugs and blue laser beams, said to come from the new faction, Illuminati. The studio’s CEO has long dismissed this as “propaganda,” but now even he is overwhelmed by the evidence.
So the CEO denied the hints:
- On MeinMMO on March 13, we published an article in which players showed the first videos of new enemies, flying bugs, in Helldivers 2. But the CEO of Arrowhead dismissed this as propaganda: “Everyone knows that bugs can’t fly.” The Ministry of Truth agrees with him that the alleged evidence is “propaganda from bug sympathizers.”
- On March 17, we published an article with clear hints of blue laser beams being shot from the sky: but the CEO denied that as well: “Blue laser beams are not real, they cannot hurt you.”
- But this story is now taking a new turn.
Soldier risks his life to provide proof
This is the new development: Today, in the early hours of March 20, a photo was shown on reddit that showed flying bugs along with a blue laser beam.
The soldier who took the shot said: He nearly lost his life trying to provide this proof to the soldiers.
This is how the CEO reacted: When the proof photo eventually made its way to Twitter, CEO Johann Pilestedt could only helplessly exclaim “Noooo …” The truth has triumphed here.
What do the hints mean? The blue laser beams are a clear indication that the Illuminati, an enemy faction from Helldivers 1, are now also involved in Helldivers 2. In part 1, they had the ability to teleport.
The only question now is when Joel will unleash them on the defenders of Over-Earth.
