Is there a German voiceover? The bad news upfront: There is currently no German voiceover. You can only choose between Chinese and English.
Where can I change the language in Where Winds Meet? To change the language in Where Winds Meet, you open the menu on PC, console, or mobile device and switch to the “Language” tab. There, you set the spoken language under “Game Voice” to English or Chinese.
For written texts such as menus, information, and subtitles, you can choose from German, English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.
You can switch both at any time if you want to get a picture for yourself. When it comes to the game voice, it depends on personal taste: English might be easier to understand without constantly reading along, while Chinese feels significantly more immersive. However, not all dialogues are voiced in the English version, so you will occasionally have to read along and sometimes also hear Chinese sentences.
How is the quality of the translation? The German texts are somewhat clumsy in places. One example: If you want to pet a cat, it says “Haustier”, in English “Pet”. This can mean “to pet” in some contexts, while in others, it actually means “pet”.
