IKEA and the hardware specialist ASUS have jointly released a gaming collection for users. Now the tech channel “Linus Tech Tips” has tried out the furniture. And the Linus team is surprised at how good the items are.
Gaming furniture is always an exciting topic for gamers as they are particularly tailored to their needs. That’s why IKEA has presented gaming furniture together with ASUS. The collection is simply called “Gaming Range” or “Gaming assortment”.
The IKEA gaming collection includes:
- Gaming chairs
- simple desks
- desks with extra features like height adjustment or shelves
- pegboards for hanging tools, cables, and other decorative elements.
- smaller accessories for the perfect setup.
By the way, the gaming collection also includes a stylish gaming hand that wants to support you while gaming and isn’t too expensive.
Now the large tech YouTube channel “Linus Tech Tips” has also become aware of the furniture. After already having built the ultimate gaming bed from IKEA furniture, he now wants to build the perfect gaming setup with IKEA furniture.

How does the assembly go? Overall, the team consists of 4 people and they are setting up the gaming furniture quite chaotically.
One person from the team explains rather frustrated: The instructions are a real nightmare. And the many individual parts for all the furniture that are lying in a heap are the second nightmare (8:30 in the video).
Another colleague from the team complains: “This is one of the most terrible things about IKEA, that you have hundreds of different screws and stuff that you have to fit into all kinds of holes.” And if you fit the wrong parts together, then the search for the right hole for the screw starts over again. (9:40 in the video).
You can also watch the whole action of Linus and his team on YouTube. Here you can see how they set up and assemble furniture with several people:
Linus: The furniture looks great, but doesn’t make you great
This is the result: In the end, all the furniture is assembled and positioned. And Linus is impressed.
- The gaming furniture fits well together and harmonizes with each other. It looks not only like a gaming desk but like a real setup.
- The cable management is successful and the cables elegantly disappear under the desk.
Unfortunately, Linus also notes somewhat disappointed: “An epic setup does not make you an epic gamer,” as he loses his CS:GO match on the new gaming setup. So if you feel like the new gaming furniture, you need to bring the necessary skill for the games.
Not only IKEA produces gaming furniture
Other gaming furniture: Other manufacturers also produce interesting furniture for gamers. For instance, Herman Miller has presented a $1,500 gaming chair that is said to have been developed together with 30 doctors.
This includes experts from biomechanics, optics, physical therapy, and ergonomics. The chair looks more like an ordinary office chair and does without a gaming design.
Nils Raettig from GameStar has also looked at the newly presented gaming furniture from IKEA and is anything but convinced. According to Nils Raettig, this furniture does not really deserve the attribute “gaming.” What he is not convinced by can be read in his column at GameStar.
